Day trips from Madrid → Warner Park
Parque Warner Madrid
Parque Warner is a full-size theme park 25 km south of Madrid, reachable in about 35 minutes on the Cercanías C-3, and it is the answer to a specific problem: you have children, it’s the fourth day, and nobody wants to look at another cathedral. It’s a proper park with real rollercoasters, not a add-on attraction.

What it is
A Warner Bros-licensed park with five themed areas — Hollywood, Old West, DC Super Heroes, Cartoon Village and Warner Bros Studios. The DC area holds the serious rides, including Batman: Arkham Asylum, a suspended inverted coaster, and Superman: La Atracción de Acero, which is the one people travel for.
There’s also a separate water park, Parque Warner Beach, which opens in summer and usually needs its own ticket.
Getting there without a car
This is the genuinely good part. Cercanías line C-3 runs from Atocha and Sol to Pinto, where a shuttle bus connects to the park, and on peak days trains run directly to the park’s own station. About 35 minutes, at commuter fares — no coach, no tour, no car needed.
Check which service is running on your date, because the direct-station service is seasonal.
Tickets and transport
If you’re taking the Cercanías, buy the park ticket directly and save the difference. The packaged day trip is worth it mainly if you’d rather not deal with the connection at Pinto with children in tow.
Is it worth a day of a short trip?
Honestly, only if you have children or you specifically like theme parks. If you have three days in Madrid, this is not the use of one of them — Toledo is 33 minutes away and unrepeatable. If you have a week and there are kids involved, it’s the obvious release valve, and it’s a better park than most people expect.
Madrid also has a second, older theme park inside the city — Parque de Atracciones, in Casa de Campo — which is smaller, cheaper and reachable by metro. For younger children it’s often the better call.

A full day. It’s large enough that arriving at midday means missing a significant part of it, and queues build through the afternoon in summer.
